Growth in perishables from South America is much higher than in the rest of the world
Air cargo shipments originating in South America are predominantly categorised as perishables (around 70%). This product category has seen consistent year-on-year growth throughout the year 2023, and in 2024. In Q1-2023 air cargo volumes of perishables from South America increased +5% compared to Q1-2022 while worldwide outbound of perishables increased +2%. At the end of the year (Q4-2023), perishables volumes from South America increased +12% versus the same period in 2022. Worldwide outbound of perishables tonnages increased +7%.
