American Airlines aircraft in emergency landing

Thursday, December 31, 2009 11:55

PARIS, Dec 31 (WorldACD) - An American Airlines B757 was forced to make an emergency landing at Bangor Airport, in the US state of Maine, earlier this week, French radio station, France Info reports.

It was operating between New York-JFK and Paris-CDG.

A problem related to a leak in water distribution to the aircraft’s toilets had been detected during takeover but the pilot considered it be minor and decided to continue the flight.

However, shortly afterwards the leak had led to a block of ice forming on one of the aircraft’s engines making an emergency landing imperative.
